The San Francisco Planning Department and District 1 Supervisor Connie Chan are hosting a forum at the Richmond/Milton Marks Library at 5 pm on Wednesday, September 24th. They are proposing to designate 10 Richmond District properties as "Article 10 Historic Landmarks, a designation which makes them harder to turn into new housing by adding environmental review and additional procedural steps.

While this makes sense for some of the proposed addresses (such as Star of the Sea at 4410 Geary), some of them seem like they are not meaningfully historical should not have barriers to housing put up (an AT&T building at 389 9th Ave, an OfficeMax at 3700 Geary).

We don't have a lot of information (or a link to an event page from the Planning Department), but if folks can show up, learn what's going on, and help make sure that these designations don't slow down housing in our neighborhood, please RSVP!
